This is a list of live CDs. A live CD or live DVD is a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM containing a bootable computer operating system. Live CDs are unique in that they have the ability to run a complete, modern operating system on a computer lacking mutable secondary storage, such as a hard disk drive.

We recommend using the native MacTeX installer instead of the TeX Live installer on Mac OS X, because the native installer makes a few Mac-specific adjustments, in particular to allow easily switching between the various TeX distributions for Mac OS X (MacTeX, Fink, MacPorts, ) using the so-called TeXDist data structure. How to Enable the Light Appearance Theme on Mac Go to the Apple menu, and then choose “System Preferences” Choose the “General” preference panel At the top of the ‘General’ settings, look for the “Appearance” section.
